About Joshua

At just 17 years old, Joshua’s life took a drastic turn when he was incarcerated in 1995. Nearly a decade behind bars became the foundation for an extraordinary transformation. Determined to never return, he committed himself to rewriting his story—one of resilience, redemption, and success.

Since his release in 2004, Joshua has defied the odds, overcoming the barriers of a felony conviction to become a highly accomplished executive, nationwide keynote speaker, and advocate for second chances. His powerful message—delivered through his signature themes, "Today is Your Day," "4 Keys to Success," and "From Prison to Pardon"—has inspired countless individuals to break through limitations and reclaim their futures.

Joshua’s professional journey is a testament to what is possible after incarceration. He rose through the ranks of Wisconsin’s workforce system, holding pivotal roles including:

  • Construction Craft Laborer Apprentice & Journeyworker (LIUNA Local 113)
  • Business Services Consultant (Wisconsin Division of Vocational Rehabilitation)
  • Apprenticeship Training Representative (Wisconsin Apprenticeship System)
  • Chief of Field Operations (Wisconsin Apprenticeship System)
  • State Director of the Wisconsin Apprenticeship System
  • Director, Jobs For the Future (JFF)

Beyond his career achievements, Joshua has played a key role in shaping workforce development and criminal justice reform at the national level. His leadership extends to serving as:

  • Vice President/President-Elect of the National Association of State and Territorial Apprenticeship Directors (NASTAD)
  • Former Member of President Biden’s Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship
  • Board Member of Father's Making Progress
  • Former Board Member of Junior Achievement of Wisconsin

In 2022, after receiving a full and unconditional Governor’s pardon in Wisconsin, Joshua launched the Pardon Me! movement—a platform dedicated to humanizing the experiences of justice-impacted individuals and celebrating their success. The flagship Pardon Me Podcast features compelling interviews with individuals who have rebuilt their lives after incarceration, proving that second chances are not just possible—they are powerful.

Joshua’s journey is more than a personal triumph; it’s a movement. A living testament that those impacted by the justice system can achieve greatness, transform their lives, and inspire others to do the same.
